Worship
Worship is the heart of what we gather to do as
a community of faith. We worship the Triune God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob --
not ourselves, not our culture, and not our tradition. Assemblies at the Canton
Church of Christ follow in the general pattern of the Restoration Movement. We
gather to give thanks to God, to offer adoration to God, to pray for God's
mercy and guidance, to hear from God's word, and to be shaped to live
faithfully as citizens of God's kingdom. Each of these are knit together as we
join at the table each week to share in the bread and the cup, with Christ as
our host.
Adult Education
Sunday Morning:
There are two adult classes that meet on Sunday
morning at 9:30 AM. Both meet downstairs. One gathers in the auditorium and the
other in the fellowship room.
Wednesday Evening:
All adults gather in the fellowship room on
Wednesday evenings for a combined class at 6:30 PM.
Ladies Class
Ladies Class meets on Wednesday mornings at
10:00 AM for a time of Bible study. This group also frequently visits local
nursing homes and share lunch together during this time.
Youth
The youth group at Canton Church of Christ
consists of 6th-12th grade students. Teenage years are often a confusing time
in one's life. Parents and teens alike wonder, "What happened to the 'Blue
Skies and Rainbows' of yesterday?" During this time, we seek to shape our
teenagers to become faithful apprentices of Jesus through classes, service and
mission projects, and simply spending time together.
Youth classes meet on Sunday morning at 9:30 AM
and Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM. Our youth participate in numerous activities
and mission projects throughout the year, including Leadership Training for
Christ and Dry Bones Denver's Elevations program.
Children
We believe our children are not only the future
of the church but are an essential part of today's church. We work together to
shape them for a life of faith. Children's classes meet on Sunday morning at 9:30 AM, Sunday evening at 6:00
PM, and Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM.
Missions
I don't know what missions we support currently.
Benevolence
The Canton Church of Christ uses a benevolence
fund to serve those in need in our local community. We utilize this fund by
offering Brookshire's gift cards and assisting with rent and utility bills. The
benevolence office is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 AM to
2:00 PM.
